To start with this month's update I want to thank God for all His faithfulness and His guidance over me. As it is told in Habakkuk 1:5, "Look at the nations and watch -and be utterly amazed. For I am going to do some thing in your days that you would not believe,even if you were told." This is taking place for real. God is really on the move. Every Fridays we have fellowship with one of the family in the village, this family has been through a lot of ups and downs. They have 3 sons and 1st one just got married in march and the 2nd son never comes home, never calls and never checks up how his family is doing over all it sounds like he is lost. The 3rd son is studying and works at the same time. The good news about this family is that they have given their lives to Jesus,but it is hard for them to live it out cause they live in a society where fear dominates. The first son had a fight with his mom so there was no communication going on between them, our team spent a lot of time praying for this family and for first few fridays we did not see any improvement but the week after that it was so different. God had answered our prayers, the atmosphere of this family has changed. I thank God for really answering our prayer.
Moving on from there, we had a blessed time at the youth gathering. Over 25 guys had gathered and we got to know about each other's needs and prayed for the village we live in. The thing that God has been putting in my heart for these past few weeks for the time I am here, it would be the same words that Jesus spoke to Simon in Luke 5:10 part b " Do not be afraid; from now on you will be catching men". At times it feels really hard and we do not know how do we show the love of Jesus to these people who are very firm in there belief. It is really hard to express His love through words to them. For now the only way we express His love and the gospel is through our lives and through our actions. I really thank God for I know truly that He is moving in the lives of these people we meet. The kids especially are growing in big ways, they always start there studies by praying first and having a time of fellowship and worship. They are really improving a lot in there English and at the same time I am learning Hindi as I teach them. I am feeling much more confident in communicating with the people around me. Over all I am really blessed to be here and waiting on God to keep using me in great ways to bring Him all the glory. A quick testimony we had a lady who was really sick and had stones in her kidney. Our group just gathered at her house brought a glass of water and prayed over the water and asked her to drink it then she took rest for some time and after an hour she was doing much better. She told us that she had no more pain and was moving around and she was healed. Thank you God for being a God who listens to your children's prayers.
Here are my Prayer Points;
- Pray for this family who have decided to follow Jesus, that they will encounter Jesus more and more.
- Pray for the youth gathering that is happening on June 8th. Pray that these guys would come to know Jesus and decide to believe in Him.
- Pray for our team - for unity and growth in every area of our lives.
- Monsoon season is coming and it will be hard to get to go out and get some practical work done. Pray that it won't affect us and that we w ill find ways to accomplish things here.
- Pray for my health, and pray that I will keep growing in my walk with God.
